You can put UV dye in the fuel system and run the engine with the upper valve covers off. Make sure the return lines don't have cracks. Most internal leaks I have dealt with are on the return side. I have actually only worked on one truck with a cracked injector body. A leak on the high pressure side will fill the engine very quickly. While the upper covers are off, unplug the fuel pressure regulator while its running and if you have a cracked injector body you will find it. Just be careful, 20000psi fuel leak can hurt you.

When I saw the title, I was sure I was about to read a thread about a BFH. This is way better. A tool that actually prevents the frustration, instead of only venting it.

Couldn't u check for leaks with pressure instead of vacuum? Just like a regulator set at 15 psi on an air gun with a guage?

Or is that what he's doing?

Sweet setup. I will be doing this in a few days. It will be nice to have the piece of mind when I reassemble everything

Can this be used to diagnose a leaky line before actually doing injectors? AKA can I use this set up without engine being torn down? Very very new to Lb7 world...

Yes, number 5 slight rattle at idle when warm. Rates 5 in park, 7 in drive. Slight amount of fuel in oil (don't know when last oil change was as I just bought truck a bit ago) No smoke on start up, runs awesome. Have tried GM Upper engine cleaner trick to no avail.
