Lb7 tapping under load

Hello everyone
I have a tapping sound around 2000rpms. It's a LB7 in a 2004 2500hd with 31k.
Sounds like someone dropped a small bolt in one of the cylinders, more noticeable when pulling a grade on the highway. I was able to pull a 15k 5th wheel without a problem for 5 hours. Oil and filter changed every 1000 miles or so. I will be pulling 5th wheel this summer from jersey to South Carolina. Needless to say I'm a little nervous after reading some posts. I'd appreciate any advice!!!

Mine does the same thing but mine isn't near as loud as yours apparently is. Ive spent hours and hours chasing it and finally gave up even though it drives me nuts. :/ I just drive it hard and hope it fixes itself. LOL

Have someone put an EFI live tow tune on that thing & it will help. My stock rattles much more than any of my dsp5 tunes.

EFI live tow tune? Sorry when it comes to diesels I'm lost!! I have the Edge juice in it, I'm ausuming that's not similar to what you're talking about.

To simplify things for you since your not into this stuff like we are, EFILive is a tuning software. It would replace your edge. You could use the edge for gauges but would use the EFILive for your programming for towing and mileage.
