Got the turbo on today, much easier job when you have the right tools to get the downpipe and up-pipe bolts out. Dynoed the truck with the stock turbo, swapped the turbo, and dynoed it again. Only other difference was the ambient air temp, as it was 48-degrees when we tested it in the morning at 9:00 and 75-degrees when were re-tested at 2:30.
DTS Turbo picked up 30hp and 35ft-lbs of torque at peak. But notice how much broader and flatter the curves are, truck holds power and torque much longer through the RPM's. Driving it, you'd never know it wasn't the stock turbo as far as spool-up and driveability go. Pulls much harder and EGT's are down over 100-degrees at wide open throttle. Judging by the exhaust, my tune is out of fuel, think we could feed it some more in the tuning, but in the interest of keeping the stock motor happy, I'll probably leave it where it's at.
