So I was talking to my mechanic about building my trans, and he told me about how I'll have issues with my rods if I go over 550rwhp. So my question is what tunes will REALISTICALLY put me 520-550Rwhp. Would the ppe hot+2 be an option? Or just shoot strait for efi live?

Ppe hot+2 won't get you near that. Efi live and some max effort tunes with supporting mods will net you roughly 530 or so. That's about all the stock turbo can handle.

It's all on how healthy his fuel system is. I only gained 15hp going from a PPE hot+2 to efi live race tune.

Oh yeah I need to add to signature, it has new injectors, they have about 10,000 miles on them

But to be clear, if you had neither, you would purchase efi live haha. I see no reason to buy a ppe tuner when an autocal can be had for not much more $$

I would also argue there are other benefits to efi live aside from the 15 or so added peak hp. It's been my experience that efi love will make the power without the smoke and dsp5 tuning is far more convenient than having to reflash with the ppe.

My disagreement was for what could be achieved between the two. To say one is much more likey to do so without knowing the truck is putting false hope in someone new

Yeah if it would have been me putting tuning on the truck I would have just started with efi live. But it wasn't, so here I am. I just bought the truck this way and I'm going to do what I need to, to get right over 500rwhp with the stock turbo. I want to make the power with tuning and keep stock turbo to run in a stock class on the dyno.
