What are you trying to program with your Edge? Based upon your post I am guessing it is an Edge module with tuning.

Yes it is an edge cs2 evolution that im trying to install but it gives me this message

I took my truck to the shop and they said it had some program already on it seems like a 5 stage tune switch that i dont want because it feels no different no matter where i turn it so i just wanna have it erased from my ecm somehow and just install the edge evolution on there

You need to find a diesel performance shop near you that has experience with custom tuning. Otherwise, you'll end up having to pay the dealer to flash the truck with a factory file and starting over.

This may be an issue with a "locked" LB7 ECM. I have bricked a few of these over the years during reflash. The previous flash will take (sometimes), but EFILive or the dealer Tech II cannot get in an unlock the ECM to do the next flash.

LB7's are notorious for this, so any more, I remove the ECM and do a bench flash with one of these: https://bench-force.com/collections.../benchforce-starter-kit-for-automotive-obd-ii and associated other required harnesses. You can also make one yourself for a LOT less, but I had no time and was in a hurry.

It is not absolutely necessary, but I was tired of bricking the ECM while doing the flash in the truck and then sending them to SoCal diesel to have it fixed.

If it has a dsp file I don’t believe the EDGE unit will do the full flash back to stock os.

I thought I seen a recent update from EFILive that fixed this issue and added the ability to overwrite locked tunes. May want to look into this
