Got bored last weekend and since I had all the parts I decided to finally fab up my traction bars.
Supplies I had were 25 feet of 1.5" x .25 DOM tubbing
4 7/8" chromolly high misalignment rods end with 9/16" holes (2 left hand thread and 2 right hand thread)
Various nuts and bolts and various steel.
Started with the axle side, took the saddles off and make some brackets that are 5.5" long and reach to just above my rim. Side peices are 2"x3/8" flat bar and the back piece to box it in was 2"x.5" flat bar
Side pieces mounted to my frame are 3/8" x 2" flat bar x 6" long bolts in 3 spots underneath to my frame with gr8 1/2" bolts!
So far these bars are absolutely bullet proof!!
