So when I took my lower oil pan off to re seal it I found 2 little tubes in the bottom of it. Everything was running fine so I just took them out and resealed it and have been driving. When I was taking apart another lb7 at school I figured out they were oil cooling jets for the Pistons does anyone know a part number for them or where I could get them at? I've looked for a while and haven't been able to find anything yet. View attachment 39537

Yes I replaced all 8. No idea why it happened. I did find out that the previous owner was using an edge juice with attitude module in it. I was talking to a tech that's worked on duramaxes at a gm dealer from day one and he said most of the time he has seen this happen they were running an edge or superchips programmer. No idea of that's related or actually the cause tho.

I just rebuilt a broke crank built engine that had two nozzles laying in the lower pan. They were un related to the broken crank. It seems like mahle Motorsports pistons' skirt extend further out of the bore, possibly causing the issue if the assembler isn't paying attention.
On any Duramax, stock or 'built', you need to rotate the engine over and aim each nozzle correctly at it's piston. A lot of them even need bent a tad to prevent the piston from hitting the nozzle, not just rotated to center in the hole. Cast pis tons have the little hole that the nozzle aims into but forged do not.
