guys i need some opinion...

Im about to buy a truck and Ive narrowed it down to two. An 03 ccsb gmc 93k miles lifted with a Stage 3 ATS trans, and watermeth. And the other is an 05 lly ecsb with 66k miles, stock, not lifted. Does anyone have any input as far as which powertrain? Built trans is great but is it worth the miles and potention injector failure?

vgt's dont flow the same air do they? i thought vgt would be a downfall. injectors on an lb7 are definitely no good but what other downfalls are there?

I'd get the LLY for the signle reason of it being stock, who knows how the lb7 has been driven, obviously hard if its got a built trans and meth.

so an lb7 wouldnt be a good daily driver for 400-450 hp?

And definitely an LBZ over the rest??

Every year will run great in the 400-450 range but I personally would never own an LB7 simply based on the injector issues.

If the balance rates are good on the LB7, a vin check looks good, the drivetrain looks in good shape, and the guy has some paper work to go with the trans (specially if its still has a warrenty) and what not i wouldnt hesitate to buy it. But i also dont mind doin injectors myself.

if you can find an lbz that floats your boat. some lly are prone to overheating. they are all good but the lbz is a lil better:D

03 hands down, changing injectors is somewhat pricey when doing all 8 but not that bad to do, no emissions, built trans, better os and not known for the headgasket issues and overheating like the 05, just my .02

If the LB7 is in good shape and at a decent price I would go with it. Especially if it is a federal emissions truck. Not cat no EGR to have to remove down the road. Injectors aren't that big of an issue to change and as long as you take care of them you won't have many issues.

Guys the original owner, the trans and meth were for towing, and balance rates are good. Injectors are still concerning but this truck hasnt had a replacement set either??

The lbz i seen is nice and cheaper then the lb7 but not lifted. Pretty much stock with wheels. No mods
