Hey bigblaze, I didn't know that but thanks for the heads up. I do have a 02 harness, but it had a electric tcase and I do have the 261xhd, so which color wires or what does the connector look like that you have to modify. Also, while I have your attention, can I use the 2004 ficm and engine harness I currently have on my LB7 since it is a 2004 or do I need to use the 2002 engine harness and get a 2002 ficm to go with it?

to clarify further.....yes I know I have to use the 01-02 engine harness, but will a 2004 ficm work with the 01-02 harness?

I've beat on my 10.5" 14 bolt pretty good with 3.42 gears, and she has held up just fine. I know that Bigleys red truck is running a 9.5" semi floater with over 600HP, but that is in a 5,200 lb truck.

i thought about using a 9.5" because its a bolt in deal. but i wasn't sure if it would hold. around town sure but what about at the track with slicks?

I think you will find that your tuning will dictate how much power your rearend will hold. I was running a 20?20 tune in my BURB but had the fuel coming in abruptly and ended up twisting my frame in a few spots enough so that it is distorted some. I'm now running a 40% over tune with the timing at 60% and it runs MUCH stronger. BUT I brought the fueling in more gradually and limited the bottem end and it hasn't flexed teh frame much since. Bringing the power in softly can allow for alot more HP to be run through the rear tahn an all out tune will allow for.

but how bad would that kill a 60ft? i wanna pulled the front wheels damn it. lmao. but your right twisting the frame would suck. mine has a bit of a twist to the left when i launch now. enough so that at times the front right wheel will come off the ground about an inch. which sucks for AWD. i tried 2wd swap for a bit and lost two left axles and a detroit locker.

i made a new thread so we don't tie this one up with of topic rear end stuff. http://www.duramaxdiesels.com/forum/showthread.php?t=30860
