was wondering MAX amount on cyl head you can take off lb7.
i have worked on these trucks for a living for a long time and never new/cared til mine got torn down. this truck makes me money pushing snow so i cant afford to have anything else go wrong that could have been done now. sooooooo im doing all the cups turbo oil line gaskets(mild leak) studs , blah blah blah. also last night took pass sied head off saw #7 piston was beat up......and CLEAN aka my cooland leak. ran the VIN never had inj in it so i dont think the piston "damge" was from a nozzle gernading or anything but ive seen this before alot for over fueling but never from just injested cooant.........................

I am no expert on this matter but did successfully take .003" and .005" off mine without recessing the valves. IIRC .008" is a max but not sure if that is with or without needing to do the valves.

if your injector had ever stuck open or has high balance rates, it can cause piston damage. the tip doesnt have to blow up to do it

Being that you have an lb7, i'm willing to bet their is a bad injector(s) if your're saying the spray pattern is that bad.

got her started last night runs great. and no more white smoke.........:D had to take .006 of the heads cuz the last JACKASS to have these heads off took a diegrinder sanding disk to the head. and the cylinder that had the leak neede some work.New valves and springs seals............ balance rates are good(for now)

Good job :thumb:, did you determine what the maximum is that can removed?
