I am in the process of rebuilding/building up my 03 Lb7. Its only going to be a good running street truck, So I'm not going to mess with porting and polishing. But should I go with a 3 angle valve job or a 5 angle?

I would at least touch up the seats and valves ...3,5 angle whatever you like..and machine the surface of the head (only take a few thousands though)

yea i dont have the $$$ for DTS. I have a friend that works at a machine shop. He is going to do them for me. Just didnt know what I should go with seeing as how its just gonna be a hot street truck. It might get pulled or drag raced every once and awhile

I would love to.. but the "you should get" list gets longer everytime i post about this rebuild. Thats $800 i dont have to spend. It would just drag the build out longer.

I don't know the angle, I'm sure someone on here does. But I'm running 850ish RWHP on normal cups, just the ARP studs. Lots of people have pushed up to 1000hp with 0 issues on the cups

So how should I have it done? I dont know what is good or bad as far as how many angle to go with, 3 or 5?

Most places would do a three angle. There isn't a lot of valve seat area so going with five angles leaves a very tight contact area. High egts will then effect seat area more.

Im running around 800hp with stock cups and just a 3 angle valve job. You'll be good. BES did a great job on my machine work and are just south of you alittle ways
