I am weary of tinkering with my gauges. Can anyone tell me what OBD2 gauge display to buy that will give me the vitals speedometer, tach, water temp, trans. temp, and especially fuel gauge? I've been driving my 2003 lb7 without gauges for more than 2 years. Cheers Mike

Your best bet is a wrecking yard, dismantler or eBay. Just be aware of the difference between the RPMs of the gas vs diesel units. There are a handful of places on eBay or Internet that will program the unit to your old Odometer reading.

What's wrong with yours? Is it just the stepper motors that failed? Typical issue and easy to replace. Or is everything out? Does the electroluminescent display work?

If your gauges haven't worked in 2 years, what is stopping you from repairing them? To be honest, it sounds like you can't really make them any worse than they are now. Getting gauges repaired these days is relatively fast and cheap IF it's an issue with the cluster itself.

As for something that displays vitals, an Edge CTS3 will do that.

To answer the question - any monitor like an Edge will do what you ask.

Moved to Tuning/Ganges section.

Soldering in new stepper motors is not hard to do. Replace all the bulbs while youre in there.
There are a lot of places online that'll repair your cluster, too....

The 03-07 are very common to have issues with the stepper motors and the LCD.

I have used Digital Dash Solutions on Ebay a few times for Replacement Clusters. The are several other people that rebuild them as well. I have done at least 3 where the stepper motors failed. I have also repaired 2 with a broken solder joint.

Thank you all for your replies. I have changed stepper motors, re-soldered questionable circuit connections, used 2 parts trucks clusters, one of which worked for a few months. I thought I had it fixed when I took out the connector wires and re-crimped them but again it worked briefly and then then quit. To answer your question 2004LB7, the illumination,, signals, and glow plug operate, everything else is dead. Thank you N2BRK and Bdsankey for your Edge recommendation. I will pursue the Edge and put an end to it.

When you say "put an end to it", I'm assuming you mean fixing the cluster issue?
