After having some fun and blowing up 2 stock bottom ends it’s time to build a strong bottom end.
List includes
Callie’s forged crank
Wagler billet main caps
Girdle & main studs
Carrillo rods
Mahle .20 delipped cast pistons
Wagler stg 1 at cam
Wagler street dual valve springs & pushrods
100% over S&S injectors
Dual stock LBZ cp3’s and a fass250gph lift pump.
Hsp s300 kit with sxe369 t4 ,45mm
Trans has a suncoast 1055 converter and all the goodies

Got the donor engine pulled today, leaky cup on cyl 7 and she’s sat for a few years with coolant in the cyl. Good thing for .20 overs. It’s almost a shame to hide these nice shiny parts where the sun don’t shine.

Got the core engine torn down, it had a couple of leaky injector cups but was running when parked but had sat for about 5 years. The engine wouldn’t fully rotate 360* so I knew something was up.

Found this inside and got the block torn down and cleaned up, still waiting on a long list of parts to show up. But the SoCal torque plate sure looks nice

What is the purpose of the SoCal torque plate? Excuse my lack of knowledge😅
It simulates the pressure the head will exsert on the block so when you bore the cylinders they stay round. If you don't use one and bore the cylinders then when you clamp the head on the block distorts ever so slightly and the cylinders can be out of round causing additional or accelerated uneven wear

Long slow project but it’s getting closer, fresh box sides and new cab corners & rockers. And a fresh coat of paint. And the engine jumped in today. Wish I didn’t have to hide the nice SoCal flexplate/flywheel
