My 03 lb7 has had bad injectors for about 15000 miles and I have 225000 miles on my truck. I am looking to rebuild the engine but not sure what all I will need. The truck is smoking really bad all the time. I am wondering if there is any way to tell if I have holes in my pistons. I also need a seal kit for it because I leak about 1 quart a week. Any help would be great.

Thanks kyler

Compression and leak down tests.

Leaking where? What kind of smoke?

Thats nornal for bad injectors on an lb7. Your making oil from the leaking injectors and its coming out the breather. White smoke is a totally normal symptom of bad injectors, if you had a hole in a piston you would know it...

I have a feeling this motor is already gone. Driving on bad injectors for 15,000 miles is rediculous.

Kind of reminds me of people who get a flat tire, swap the little donut spare tire on and all the sudden think they have a brand new tire they can put thousands of freeway miles on.

Agreed with all mechanical points already posted. I feel you've probably hurt the engine from driving it so long with bad injectors. What's your oil pressure like at idle and driving?

I know it's bad and I haven't had the money to fix it and I know it was going to kill me in the end by not getting it fixed right away the pressure idling is around 35 and 55-60 down the interstate

How long has it been dumping oil out? There is a chance this motor is still good. It all depends on HOW dilluted your oil has been and how long it was run that way.

My truck had bad injectors for a while before we fixed it. Always kept the oil changed frequently.

Sometimes life gets in the way, and fixing things like injectors get put on the back burner.
