Just Venting a Little Here So Bear With ME!!!!!

So I hauled my EFI laptop 13 000 miles to work, so I can work on some tunes a little when I have free time , and then EFI decide's to corrupt itself and now it doesn't work. So now I have no EFI and lots of free time with nothing constructive to do-and like hell I'm doing more work!!

Now you might think no problem, just download it again. That's a big problem for me as where I am I have sketchy at best Dial Up, I'm 3hrs from the nearest town, and 7hrs from the nearest town with high speed internet.

Not impressed!! And very Bored!!!

Well hell Dale  Wait, how much free time do you have? Shit you can download 105 megs of efi in a week or two with dial up. :p Now you'll have something to do. You can watch the progress indicator on your download. :D

X2 what Simon Says.

LOL!!

Well, If I could keep a good solid connection, then I would be able to download it. But the dial-up keeps going down so it gets cancelled every time!!

And I'm the boss Simon - I'll decide how much work I'll do!!

Well, I think the tune that my good friend Josh H sent me which was from the 7.5 Version is what sent my EFI south.
IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT JOSH!!!
Basically it was looking for 7.5 and when it couldn't find it, it said it was unable to find the right version to read it. But then I couldn't open any tunes after that as it wanted to update to 7.5 everytime I tried to open even my stock tune. Even when I just tried to open scan and tune by itself it would try to update to 7.5 or said the current version was invalid.
Maybe this is something everyone should be aware of.

Well I'm making progress. I'm into day two of the 7.4 version download and am at 53% at a Vic 20ish lightning quick speed of 3.34kb/s on the average when it's not searching for a connection. I bet you guys didn't know that the internet could work that slow!!

If you keep having trouble downloading the software, dropped connections that require a restart of the download, get a file down loader that supports resume. GOZILLA is one of the softwares that does this. Heck it may even help make that 3.39 a 4.39 lol. Good luck to ya Dale.

Gozilla you say. WTF is that?? How does it work?

It's a download accelerator. Give this one a try, I've heard and read that Gozilla may be a bad choice. http://www.speedbit.com/eng/ Look at the download manager. Read up on it, may prove to be helpful more than once. By the way, if you continue to have installation trouble, let me know. We'll try another method of getting rid of your errors on the screen. Later

Well I used getbot and be damned if it didn't work!! Thanks Mike. I got everything downloaded and the new 7.5 installed and good to go - except I can't make any changes until I get home and re-register my V2.

Anyhow thanks everyone for your help!!:D
