Had some fun wheeling with my fianc'e. Took her to Box Canyon (or known as Mineral Mountains in Florence/Superior AZ). I tried some challenging trails which was not easy to get through those huge rocks without touching. Those trails were made for mid size suv/trucks like a Jeep. Got some pics of the fun

I did bottom out so bad on one rock going downhill, it smashed into the differential skidplate and bent it to touching the bottom of the differential, also hit part of the lift. Luckily, the lift is sturdy enough not to get bent and the skidplate did save the front differential housing. The ride was kinda uncomfortable, I wish there were a better suspension setup for this kind of ride in IFS setup. Maybe I should design my own long travel suspension setup just like the pre-runner/trophy trucks.

Nemo, we did have a blast, although it was scary at a few time when it was too close to the rocks and we were right on top of the mountains. :)

I decided it was time to do some wheeling and take my fianc'e out wheeling for her first time. She did have fun and it was a great experience for her. I had to make it up for her since I'm always working 60+ hours a week and barely spend time with her lately.

I wheeled my little '99 silverado toy this weekend up in the mountains. For nothing but vortec headers and duals, she always suprises me......

X2!!

As for carnage, I lost a turbo bolt and wrecked a turbo gasket, and busted off one of my bully steps.
Coulda been worse.......

How did you guys fair and what kind of lift is that Ridin GMC???

It's a 6" RCD lift. It came with the truck when I bought it. The disadvantage about the lift is that it uses grade 5 hardware which is underrated. I kept snapping the sway bar link until I upgraded to grade 8 and works better, no more broken bolts at the sway bar links.

I'd rather get a better lift something that is much better suited for the kind of trails I wheel in. Its more of a street lift, it does fine in the trails too.

I think this trail will do just fine for your truck since you probably got more clearance than I have right now. But it wasn't easy going around the corners with those rocks, it's like trying to park a semi truck in a city parking lot lol. We should wheel sometimes. That trail took me like 4 hours to complete the entire trail. It must have been at least 20 miles long.

Whats the go with the laws on lifts, tyre sizes, ect, in your country. If the cops seen us with that size lift and tyres poking out the guards like that in Australia we'd get buttf***ed. Were only allowed max 2 inch suspension and 2 inch body lift and 15 mm tyre size increase it sucks.

Nice pics by the way. :thumb:

They all vary by the state. In Arizona, I was told I can lift it as high I want as long it stays in the lane without sticking out and have mudflaps to cover the entire wheel.

In Massachusetts where I am originally from, they cant lift it no more than 28" at bumper height or 6" lift and must have mudflaps to cover the tires. Tires can't stick more than 2.5" past the fender flares. The law for the lift may have changed though.

technically, the headlights cant be any higher than 54"s off the ground. but the cops here rarely check it unless your bein a dick and call them on their bluffs lol

Ah thanks for telling me that. Nobody told me that part. I've been living in AZ for 3 years now so I'm still learning new laws.
