My dumb ass drove right into the worst of it this weekend. I had been Chicago for the daughters graduation, from Navy boot camp, we headed home Saturday night. My plan was to drive 500 miles into Nashville get a little sleep and come on home on Sunday morning. I had not watched any news since Wednesday and had no idea what we were about to drive into. No rain at all until we were south of Louisville, Ky. and then we hit the stalled out front. The rain just got worse and worse, torrential downpours. Finally stopped in Bowling Green, Ky. got a room and a couple of hours sleep. Then headed into Nashville Sunday morning, the water was unbelievable, everywhere you turned the interstate would be flooded and shut down. Hundreds of local intersections flooded. Massive devastation. Finally got out of Nashville after three hours and got headed towards Chattanooga.

Prayers for the families and rescuers in Nashville and the surrounding areas.

Kat when we were driving along thru Ga going into Tn the rain got so heavy we almost had to pull over. Parts of i24 were just 1 lane if that I was not sure to take the truck thru it but no were else to go I'd you stoped to long you might of been parked in a pond very soon. We watched boats and 2 and 4 yard trash dumpsters floating along the hwy crashing it what ever it want to. On high ground you could look down and see little towns turned into rapped rivers. If we had left Ga any later I think we would of been stuck in Tn for a night or so. Even going thru parts of Ky futher out farm land looked like big lakes were on the way out it was just plowed and planted not long ago and almost ready to come across the roads there in spot.
