Starting this thread a little late, but not too much progress has been made anyways. Cracked a piston in late August at the drag strip, so I'll be building it and hopefully shooting for 800 on a single, then twinning it later to make over 1k. So far I've pulled the motor, took it apart, and took the block to a machine shop to get it bored.

A list of what's already in it before breaking:
-s475/stock compounds
-75% over DDP injectors
-Wicked Diesel stage 3 cp3
-ARP head studs
-AD 165
-M/A 700 Trans

Here's a list of what I have so far:
-Danville 72mm vgt
-Fingers cast oval bowl pistons .020 over, 16:1cr, .075vr
-SoCal beehive valvesprings, cups, & retainers
-ARP main studs

And a list of likely parts to go in:
-Carrillo rods
-SoCal 6480 cam
-ATI super damper
-Clevite bearings
-full gasket kit
-Ported heads

For anyone running a Danville 72, what intake do you guys suggest? I don't have anything from the stock intake since I had twins.

Advice and criticism is accepted. Pictures will be up soon.

Had a danville 72 and ran a stock mouthpiece with an s and b. Truck went 11.86/115mph with the stock intake housing and no filter in it. Dont count the stock intake out for the count!

Ive got and like the Banks Ram Air Intake with the Super Scoop, although I'm not a huge fan of the oiled cotton filter element... the intake is designed well, looks pretty good, fits nicely and bolts up to any VGT you're gonna put in the valley. I've had it with 3 VGT's now (stock, 4094/DP72/DP3794)

Little update.

Ended up having to bore the block to .040 over after already ordering pistons. Sold those pistons within 12 hours of getting them, and ordering a set of the same ones but .040 over tomorrow.

Also picked up a SoCal 6460 cam, an lbz mouthpiece, and s&b intake.

All I need to order still is a downpipe, then assembly will start. It's already been down longer than I wanted it to be, but it should come together pretty quick now.

Nope, sticking with a stock crank and 6460 cam. Don't quite have the funds to do absolutely everything I want to do, and the AF cam didn't make the final list lol.
