Anyone ever done a head job on an 06 kodiak regular cab? I've done injectors and it was a pain. Wondering how realistic it is to pull the cab.

It's a roll back and I have the shop space to pull the cab if it's realistic.. last job before I leave this job lol. Go out with a bang

I've seen it done in the truck, I believe they lowered the engine. We lifted the cab on my 07 to swap injectors. We didn't pull it all the way off but cant imagine its worse than a pickup the wiring is very well laid out on the passenger side.

Good Luck!

Oh I know it's possible in truck.. I looked at it a little this evening. I guess I'll see how hard the cab is going to be to pull. If it's on the same level as a dmax cab I'll do it

when I did Kodiak head gaskets I unbolted the front mounts loosened the rear mounts and tip the cab back and put a 6x6 block in the front between the cab and frame. got me where I needed to be and if I remember right only had to disconnect the steering shaft

What Russ said. Good thing they are not very heavy because you have to contort yourself to full them out not much room for a hoist even with the cooling stack and hood off.

Also unbolt the cab leaving the rear bolts in but loose and stick a 4x6 between the cab and frame on both sides. Then jack up and block the frame so you can take off the front tires. It is much easier than reaching over them the whole time.

Two more hours and heads are ready to go to the machine shop. Might take two days to put it back together lol.

Pull cab*

Last one I did was probably 3-4 hours. I don't do many gm cabs.. 6.0-6.4 is about an hour and half process now. If my other guy helps me we've done them in 40 min before. But that's busting ass slinging shit.

We need to get together when you head this way. I have a feeling you would fit well into the marine business...:cool2:

Plus, I'll take you offshore to the gulf stream to go wahoo and tuna fishing...:D
