LLY: Knocking and smoke

Alright guys just bought 06 Dmax ran like a top for 2 tanks
then went to knocking and smoking grayish black. Changed filter ran good for a
little while. While driving to a shop to get looked at knocking got worse still
blackish gray smoke followed by white smoke. What else are my options other than bad fuel?

Stuck open injector? Try some 2 stroke oil in the fuel 1 full quart per tank make sure its a tc=w3 oil you can get it at wallmart Welcome to DD hope you get er running good again

I'm with Robert!

Get a catch can under the fuel filter housing and open the petcock (white tube that sticks down below the fuel filter, turn it). check what comes out, water will look like clear balls in the diesel. If that does not show you anything put a new filter in it. If the issue goes away and come back after a little while you have dirty fuel. You would need to drop the tank and clean it.

Well the verdict is 2 bad injectors and a bad egr value...

Double even triple check ur fuel, and a bad egr motor or valve? I have yet to actually come across a bad valve...... hope all goes well.
