Good luck! Wish i could be there.

What does first place winner get?

I saw they were raffling off a $5,000 dollar snap on tool chest and they were going to fill it with tools too!

Heads up on the street. Still a tree but all heads up.

I took first place out of all the trucks. 4 Diesels and rest were all gasser trucks. Pretty nice turboed and S/C'ed trucks. The local ford guy to beat ended up being runner up to me. :happy2:

I'm pretty happy. Payout was $100 and a Trophy. I had a blast. I won every race I ran, even in qualifying.

Saw the videos on another site, looks real short how far you race one city block or what?

330ft.

the idea was started back a quite a few years ago to hold some local street racing grudges. It turned into a pretty big event as the years went on.

Its part of route 66.

I had a blast watching all the old hot rods run and seeing all the cars, let alone racing.

although it was a little tough getting answers for a few questions, this event ran right on schedule to the "t" and they had it very well organized.

They even have the sheriff race the police chief, and the mayor race too. :D

Well that's pretty cool the city fathers embrace this, looks like there is a fair amount of prep work to do with the concrete blocks along the edge. Must be street legal to race I assume, shut down area looks short what were the fastest times?

Actually the shutdown area is pretty long. There was a pro street car and an unlimited car class. Fastest time was somewhere around a low 4 maybe a high 3. not sure as I didnt watch all the races. Alot of the unlimited cars wouldnt really hook up. Only one car went into the wall, and he was fine just beat up a little. I was skeptical on a 330ft race but after it started it was a lot of fun. Not much room for error, with no time to make up for anything. Also its heads up so catching a light helped a ton. I was catching .508-.513 lights in every run on a .500 tree.
