Ouch! I remember changing a blade on one of our push mowers, hand slipped and blade turned. Finger got caught between the deck of the mower and the blade. Sure was nice to see the bone :thumb:

Jeez! I got one upped!
Well, at least your docs knew what they were doing. I went to base medical and had 2 E-3's working on me. One didn't have a clue how to give the shots to numb it. So the other guy coached him through it. ON MY DAMN FINGER! First 2 shots went ok. The third (right above knuckle on the left side of index finger) didn't go so great. The dummy stuck the needle into my bone, canted it to go "around" the bone, then managed to go to far and the needle came out of the other side of my hand. Right at the webbing between the middle and index finger. I wanted to punch that 19 year old kid In the face. They could have at least gave me some more senior personnel. Not kids from boot camp.
Jerks.

This is why you should be more careful with a wood splitter.

On my wake board boat this year, by Buddie some how got his hand wrapped around the rope, when he fell it drug him and embedded in his thumb. We had to cut the rope and they removed it at the hospital.

You definately have 1st place, i cant imagine it will ever be right again. I know my my ring finger is permanetly numb on the end and i can never straighten it again. I'd rather have the end of mine cut off than how it is now. A thumb though is terrible, you use that for everything:baby:
