I was also playing with a 90mm? GM throttle body. As long as it has juice, it stays open. Cut the power, it shuts. But I decided it would be a restriction.

What we are doing with Casper right now is a halon-kill system. Pull the cable, halon is injected into the engine as well as fire suppression. Two for one.

I was dinking with switchable tuning on LBZ's back in 06 but got sidetracked. If there were really serious interest (pay for my time @ minimum wage) I'd have finished it.

my states minimum wage ($6.50) or your states minimum wage(8.00)

the halon fogging system is a great setup too.

I just like keeping things simple by using a 5" butterfly shutoff

Well, it on my "List Of Things Studied" or LOTS. I got LOTS of stuff, too much. :D

As long as the butterfly has zero risk of accidental kill, it's an excellent way to go. False kill is a real problem on some systems. Bouncing, torquing, twisting, has cause more than one to shut accidently.

I havent decided where/how I will attach it out back but it will use PTO cable or similar(cable inside a cable) and terminate in a loop. Attached to that loop will be a zip tie.

If I were you, I'd run a electronic shut off to the back of the truck, and run your cable for the butterfly inside the cab for emergency purposes only (blown turbo/runaway).

i actually wanted to do that but need to figure out how

All you have to do is ask:D What I did was use a tether switch that I got from Napa. I simply wired it so that one wire is going to each side of the INJB fuse. Make sure though you use an in line fuse since the INJB fuse is removed.

I'm cheap. I used a 4 pin flat trailer connector. Cut the two inside wires off and looped the two outside wires together on one side of the plug. On that side of the plug drill a hole for a 2" round key chain clasp (can be found at any hardware store). The other side of the plug screw in the middle of the plug to attach. Your main ECM fuse (30amp I think) in the engine compartment take it out and drill through it. Get the mini fuse tabs that go under the fuse. Put one under each side and reinstall. Get a fuse holder with a 30amp fuse (weather proof) and run from one side of the drilled out fuse back to the back and attach to one wire of the 4 pin attached to your truck. The other wire from the other side of the drilled out fuse just run straight back to the other wire of the flat connector. When the connector is pulled apart, juice is cut to the ECM with out grounding. And it is still fused with the 30amp inline fuse. Always keep a spare fuse incase some dumb ass pulls the other half of your connector tho.:D

i realize they are typically operated by a cable, but i know some people who rig them up electrically. I like this idea so I can have a switch in the cab, yes i realize i could turn the key off but that wont stop runaway motors.

im looking around on dmaxlovers link but i will most likely end up just doing it mechanically.
