Key Fob Quit Working

Like the title says, my only key fob stopped working the other day. I put a new battery in it and it still doesn't work. At Toyota we have to re sync the fobs all the time, does this happen with GM too? Any suggestions would be appreciated seeing as my price (dealer to dealer) to replace the fob is like $120. dealer should have a device to check and see if the fob is transmitting a signal. may need to relearn the fob since the battery was replaced though.

i've changed the battery once before. that would be cool if that's all it was though. i'll keep my fingers crossed.

will any key fob sync to the vehicle or does it have to be programmed also? tried to resync mine and didn't work.

I hope it is Ok that I jump on board? I just went to the parts yard and picked up 4 transmitters (KEY FOBS) to try and program. I had no luck in this I would like to add one more to my truck if possible. Is there a number code to look for or something I am missing? Thanks Jim
