I know i need to freshen my trans soon and will need to upgrade to billet shafts and probably th billet c2, will the clutches in the gmax 5 kit hold 8-900 rwhp ? anything else that needs to be done ? I'm no where near mike l and i read he won't build a race trans unless he knows the tuner which is understandable

but what is all that different in the trans ? i'd like to at least know what was done to make it live, i understand somethings may be hush hush but are they just using different clutches or just adkusting clearances ?

Doubt you'll get a huge response from those in the know on an open forum. What they're willing to share will likely be behind closed doors....but WTF do I know  I just imagine you'll get a good deal of speculation and "my brothers mechanics uncle" responses.

Ive heard the Gmax clutches wont hold that much power. I have not tested but just heard. Stay with the ALTO clutches and you should be good assuming you have a SCIV

they are both using alto/koleen combo I believe so really they couldn't be THAT different...If you want to run big power IMO the best way is to have one of the experts work their magic on it...its nice to know whats done but I doubt like the others that any big time alli builder is willing to let the cat outa the bag on their personal mods...their is alot more to making one hold up to big power then just dropping in a kit.

just really sucks when the budget is running low its gonna cost a fortune to have one of those guys go through it and put the billett parts in it

Alto makes the Carbalite Gmax clutches and they do not use kolene steels. They are one sided.

i agree with trent, no way to make sure the cooler was flushed properly or that taps was reset etc not worth it. so i guess that leaves me with driving to maryland ?

I wouldn't touch it until it fails . If it fails then cross that bridge .

I guess I am confused at why suncoast would go to the one sided clutchs when they are rumored to not hold as much power .:confused::confused:
