Just curious what your guys thoughts an opinions on fender flares, my pickup is going in for paint again and a new hood ;) but I'm curious if you guys dig the look with the flares or with the flares I'm always open to new ideas and opinions

I'll post some pictures with and without flares on my pickup as it sits now

Thanks!

They'll also save your paint mostly by the looks of how far those tires stick out.

Yea the tires do stick out a little, I just pulled them off tonight and found so much dirt behind them and it even started to rust the fender from moister and dirt sitting in there, plus they scratch the hell out of the paint where they meet the body, but I guess that's the nature of the beast when they can't be sealed a 100% from the elements.

I do like them but just hate what I saw when I removed them. But a part of me likes the truck with out them too.

Decision's decision's

Keep the opinions coming guys

So it seems like I should keep them, any ideas as to how to protect the paint from where they rub on the body? ( maybe I should find some factory ones instead of these bushwhacked) And I guess as far as dirt building up in there I could just take them off every now and then to clean them up. :)

get the rubber strip like the bushwackers use that help the paint rub issues

Keep them for sure. Looks good either way :thumb:, but looks better with the flares IMHO.

See what a set of factory flares cost, and paint match them. They don't seem to rub. Or try the rubber strip.

I say keep them. Looks like a Tahoe without. I'm always scared to look underneath them so I know where you're coming from tho. Maybe clear bra under them then install?

Yea they are bushwacker flares and I was going to order a new install kit from them when I put them back on if I use them.

Yea I was considering going back to the factory flare that's painted to match, they seem to not rub the paint off as much.

Just need to find a decent used set or find a good price on new ones

Yea I might try the clear bra, I have clear bra along the rockers and wasn't to impressed with how it's held up since it was last painted and how yellow it turns, I'm lucky I have a dark colored truck cause after pulling some of the clear bra off I can finally see how much damage the sun did over the years.

Keep them long as they are painted to match. As far as the scratches you can only see them when they are removed, right? Can young that 3M clear plastic on first if it really bothers you? Stuff is easy to apply .
