Just got all my parts in for my first transmission build. To say that I'm excited about this is very very much an understatement. I probably won't sleep tonight; be up staring at all my parts.

- Suncoast Gmax "Raybestos" kit
- DHD Torrington Bearings
- Precision "Diesel Addiction" series converter
- Amsoil Torque-Drive ATF

I've been sub'd to the thread (Trans Refresh by Mike Diesel) about the converter flow valve mod, and plan on doing this as well.

I'm very pleased with how fast and how nicely packaged Suncoast and Precision had shipped their products, and very very pleased with how well UPS has delivered my goodies despite what the other thread may say..

I'll post pictures, as I'm hoping this is the first of many many Allisons I will build. Thanks everyone for the information on the threads and please feel free to shoot me some tips if you have any. Any help is appreciated. Thanks again.

Pick up a mike l pressure spring also. It can be had for around $30. Don't use the spacer suncoast gives you.

I was just reading about the Goerend C3 oiling PTO covers... I am game for buying them as my truck will be seeing the strip this year, and is also my DD. Just a matter of will they get to my doorstep before Friday night. Same with the Mike L Pressure spring. I kinda need to get this done asap, merging onto the highway is kind of a chore right now. Once I'm up to speed everything is ehh "Fine"..

The pto covers are also a good investment. I picked up a set for my build also. I highly suggest at least getting the mike l spring though. Don't rush putting it together. You've been limping it along this long. What's another week for the correct parts to come in if they don't come by Friday. Do it right the first time.

Do it right the first time. Wait for the spring to show up and install it rather than the Transgo shim.

Very true. Just ordered the Mike L Spring. Now to call Dave and see about those PTO covers. Thank You!

IIRC they should still be on sale for $90. theres a $125 core charge for the tool but youll get it back when you send them the tool back.

I placed the order with Suncoast 2 weeks ago from this coming Thursday. With the Raybestos clutches being such a hot ticket item, they were behind a little. 100% understandable and not a big deal. They shipped on Wednesday last week I believe and they arrived at my doorstep yesterday morning. Precision I ordered last Tuesday. From Tennessee-New Hampshire it arrived at the same time as my Suncoast kit. I ordered the DHD torrington bearings kit on a Sunday night and Wednesday morning they were at my doorstep. I ordered my Amsoil ATF on a Monday, and it was here 2 days later. So far I've had great luck with shipping.

Just ordered the Goerend PTO C3 oiling covers. Jig rental was $125, PTO covers were $90 and I had it 3 day shipped from Iowa to NH. Lady on the phone was great. Can't wait to get them. :)
