Been down that road. Got metal in my eye at work, with safety glasses on.

Electrical tape is any awesome band-aid for sure. :D

only solution is to wear the torch style safety glasses where they fit tight against your face. I wear them whenever im working on stuff from the ground, grinding, etc. Just because i love what little vision i have at the moment lol.

I have had metal in the eye. It rusts pretty much within a couple hours. They have to scrape off the rust and it sucks **s. Gotta go back a few times for f/u. just glad I never lost an eye.

Yep had many a piece removed/drilled over the last 30 years. The last time, the doctor remarked that it looked like a war zone in there. :(

I got pretty good at it myself using a Q-tip and some sterile water. The trick is to twirl the Q-tip next to the eye and the fibers will pick up the debris and pull it away from the eye.

OWW! Glad you got it fixed.

I am fortunate that I have goofy-looking head. Big neaderthal eyebrows, squinty eyes, and big eyelashes. Debris normally has to fight it's way in. But because of that, when I run a lathe, the hot chips drop over the top of the glasses, and deposit themselves on my cheeks, held in place by the glasses, so they sit there and sizzle awhile.

Liquids are my enemy, since I seldom wear glasses when handling them. Gasoline in the eyes isn't much more fun than gasoline in the groin. Once I got it so bad I couldn't see for about 5 minutes and I thought I blinded myself for good.

So far none for me this year, but last year I had metal in my eye twice. I used guys method and took it out with a q tip and it works great. Wearing glasses both times too. I need a shield I think
