Hey all. First off gonna say I'm new to the site and have been reading a lot of post lately. I just picked up a 2006 GMC lbz. I did get it from a dealer and I saw that it has the DSP5 switch. Problem is I don't know what tuning has been done to it. Is there a way to look up the efi live at all or should I have the dealer reflash it back to stock? It does have the egr delete. From the reading I have done it seems like I may have to get all new tuning done. Am I correct on this or has there been a way to see which tunes have been made for each setting?

Thanks for any info!

DO NOT have the dealer reflash the truck. With the EGR delete and such, you would open up a lot of issues with your truck. Simply take the time to contact Danville and ask them. Hopefully, Mark keeps records of his tuning according to the truck VIN.

Sounds good. I'm also gonna ask the dealership if I can get the previous owners info. Also I'm assuming that most likely the dealership didn't touch anything or I would be seeing all the issues.

Ne-Max my brother in law said kinda the same thing. More of just jealous cause the truck has everything done to it lol

hopefully it is danville tuning....but thats not always true as itis possible the previous owner could of switched tuners.....drive the truck and see how it behaves on each tune then decide if you like it. if the egr is deleted yo have to have tuning to prevent the check engine light.

I did just get the truck yesterday and I will drive it around and see how it acts in the different modes. Only thing that I have concerns on is that I don't know what tune is on each setting. If the tuning is Danville do you think they would be able to look it up by vin?

So I had the dealer contact the previous owner. This is what I got. 1 is stock, 2 is 60, 3 is 80, 4 is 160 and 5 is 230. And put in a 258 stage turbo i believe is what the dealer said. I wish they would give me his number sobs could talk to him directly but gotta work with what I got

Ask the dealer if they would be Willing to pass your number along to him. That way he can make the decision to call or not.

What would be the best way to find out if it has the built trans? I'm gonna call the dealer again and see if they will give the guy my number. Sounds like he put some money in this truck and I get to have all the benefits!

So far loving this truck. This is my first diesel I have owned and glad I found this truck.

No real way to tell externally, but theres a little rectangular steel inspection plate on the bottom of the trans you can take out and look up at the converter. Is the converter a color other than plain steel? Granted, thats no proof the trans is built, but its a clue.

X2 on teh idea of giving your number to the dealer and asking them to relay it to the previous owner.

That and hookup a pressure gauge to the transmission to see if it's been increased.

Or the old fashioned way. Tune 5 and step on it

I got ahold of the previous owner and this is what he has in it.

-Danville tuner
-Danville 68mm 2 stage turbo
-Not a built trans but does have custom tune on trans from duramax tunes I believe
-DHD air kit
-Pro fab up pipes
-PPE porter rails
-PPE pressure relief valve
-LML manifold drivers side
-merchin water delete

I'm gonna put a new EGT in and then get a lift pump done and a built trans done. I will say I lucked out finding this truck!
