Thx fellas,.. I think it's gonna be harder this time.

Your welcome, From all of us fer sure!

Dont put the thought of, difficult, into your mind!
It is and always was and will always be, a choice, and only you can make it, to smoke or not to smoke the choice is yours....it can be as easy as not buying another pack and never touching one again. Or it can be as difficult as thinking about it every second until it consumes you and you light up again.

My advise(want it or not) is to not stop at convenience stores for anything, pay for fuel at the pump, dont have any cigs lyin around(butt's included), clean out your ashtray your cab and use some ozium spray with your fan blowing to kill the smoke smell in your truck(if you smoked in it)and if you have to be around a smoker, concentrate on everything bad about what the cigarette is and does, nothing on earth is as powerful as your mind, you can do this no problem:thumb:

One of the things that kept me from lighting up again was being able to smell again, i could smell food better, taste better, my fingers didnt smell like tar and nicotine, i started to be able to smell other smokers about 10' away and it was/is disgusting. Most of all, i smelled my daughters head pretty much for the first time, and she smelled like what i believe Heaven will smell like, and i never want to lose that again.

Smoking will take that away from me, and it takes time from things that are more important, not to forget about money, it takes that from me to, one of the reasons i quit was cuz i couldn't afford the parts i wanted, as i was sitin there smoking a cig, all butt hurt about being broke, i realized i was spending a ton on smokes every month and it made me mad that the cigarettes were keeping me from the things i wanted, i was keeping me from the things i wanted, then i wanted other things more than i wanted to smoke, dont forget to reward yourself:D then you start building a foundation of reasons to not smoke, weather it be a new grille for the truck, or a new firearm, or whatever, give yourself things to have and look at that allow your mind to wrap around the benefit and joy of not smoking, soon you will forget all about it and only be focusing on what its like to be a non smoker, whats better? A pile of truck parts or a pile of cigarette butt's?

After i quit i realized just how many things there were that smoking had got in the way of, that only added to my resolve to never touch one again.

If i can do it so can you, it is a choice my friend....

Just do the math of how much you spend in a month and a year for smoking and look at what you can buy for your family or truck. That will make you quit:thumb:

My wife just quit smoking. Mostly because of me being a nag and bitching about the stench. She was at about a pack a day most days. She got a "Kanger Pro Tank 3" E-cig for her birthday and has not bought a pack since.

This might be worth looking into for those of you wanting to quit. Lots of different flavors and nicotine doses available.

I quit 3 years ago cold turkey. Just decided I didn't want to smoke anymore. I was smoking a pack and a half a day for over 5 years.

I couldn't believe how much money I saved.

I try not to be a hypocrite about it though. I just try and walk away if someone is smoking. It doesn't bother me to much.

Google a comparison of a healthy lung to a smokers lung that should be enough motivation. Good luck

That's how I see it. I've never smoke or dipped a day in my life, I know guys who struggle to pay their bills and mortgage but sure enough they always have enough cigarettes on hand at anytime. Now obviously not every smoker is in a financial situation like that..hell, quit smoking and your diesel fuel just became free (not really but you get the idea).

I got "lucky" I guess. I had surgery on my back where I was bed ridden for three weeks. Haven't smoked since then!!! Smoked five years previous to that. I can't imagine puffing on a cig now.....

I quit for the 2nd time in 1997 after my wife-who never smoked in her life but grew up in a smoke filled home-had to have a lung removed due to cancer. After I saw what she went through, I tore up my last pack and have not smoked since. She passed away in 2005. Don't waste your time on nicotine substitutes, just choose a day and quit cold turkey. Period. Go to the hospital and visit somebody who's had lung surgery if you need some incentive.

That's the cold hard truth right there. Seeing someone that smoked through out there life hauling a bottle of oxygen around with a hose up their nose struggling to breath isn't pretty. COPD. Is nothing to take lightly nor is emphysema . Not being able to catch your breath is a biatch! So the past smokers say!

Cold turkey not once but twice! :D

3 years without next month. After almost 50 with. Got a couple meds things I have to take a puff of a few times a day so I can breathe. It'll only get worse in time I suppose. I curse all those days of stupidity but like the rest of my life, no sense regretting the past mistakes. Move ever forward and be thankful you have the option to.

I have quit for about 7 months, but I have had a rechargeable NV e-cig for well over that. When I quit, it was cold turkey, didn't even use it except from time to time on long drives. I liked the NV, it was very simple, the battery lasted a long time, and was stylish.
