Time to finish this story up.

So....Saturday arrives and everything is going well. I had waved the white flag on Thursday, so I said, "F-it" and slept in. Roni, Hannah and the bridesmaids put the tables together.

So, at 10am, off they all went to get their hair and makeup done. I had risen from the dead and was home finishing up any stray things that needed to be done. Everything was going smoothly.
Turned out I had to meet the guys for late breakfast at 11, so off I went. Take a wild guess who got stuck with the check? Yep......you guessed correctly.

Anyway, The bartender, wedding planner, DJ, and celebrant all showed up between 2 and 3 pm. The guys showed back up around 2, and the girls around 2:30 with photgrapher it tow, bc pictures ya know (and the fact girls take longer to get ready for such things, right?) So that was my cue to start getting ready myself.

Guests started arriving at 4:15. My God, 200 people doesnt seem like a lot until they are all in your backyard. At 4:45, the DJ calls everyone to get seated, and incredibly, they all did. He said its the first time he hasnt had to call for seating more than once. At 4:50, the celebrant said to me, "Lets get this started (bc it was 90* out) so off we went, 10 minutes EARLY!20230603_102425.jpg
So the guys escorted the parents and grandparents down, and while they were doing that, the girls got lined up to go.

No pics of us walking Hannah down the aisle, bc I would've tripped on her train, which wouldve been catastrophic...so here's the kids exchanging rings:

As a fun aside, and bc renting chairs is actually rather expensive, everyone had to take their chair back into the tent from the ceremony. We posted the seating chart at the rear entrance so they could figure out where they had to go. Went pretty smoothly.

Bar was open at 530, and it was a line about 20 people long almost all night. Dinner was at 6:30, and that went well. Everyone seemed to have a good time. I had to make two bar runs during the night and solve a few issues, but overall it was a smooth running evening, so much so that the DJ, planner and bartender commented on it. They get a lot of credit for that.

I hear my Dad speech went well. I do not do notes, rather just like to wing it. My theme was Nana and how she would've approved of all that as going on, and normal Dad advice. Had my sisters and Roni crying....

....and so there ya go. We now have a son in law named Rob.

Guests started leaving around 8pm, so I started doing cleanup at 9:30, and last call was at 11pm. Party got done at 11:40, and we had cleanup done by midnight.

All in all, a great day. Next up, they, along with Hannah's cat Aero, head off to El Paso, TX, as Rob is stationed there.

Hell yeah Tom! That’s great to hear and see.

Nate and I made it out to Evans this morning to learn how to put his kits together on Nate’s wife’s truck. I think it’s cool as shit he keeps some of mikes stuff still around the shop

Visiting his shop was something I always wanted to do when Mike was alive.

Back to the wedding....a funny story.

Roni really likes 7-and-7's, and Hannah got her a Mom of the Bride mug, so you can imagine what that mug was used for. Our son and her brother kept it filled, completely ignoring any later consequences....hence why I felt I needed to stay sober in order to run the party. But whooooowheeee, was Roni plastered. :ROFLMAO: She really paid for it later that night. But in the meantime......

Once the kids got seated and dinner started, we quickly realized that plastic silverware and glasses cant make that "clink clink" sound to get the newlyweds to kiss, and Roni was upset about that. So me, in my infinite wisdom (or stupidity, depends on who you ask), went into the house and brought her (and Rob's Mom and Stepmom) our three cowbells. Hannah was, um, not happy about that, so after about 10 minutes of constant ringing during dinner, she absconded with them.
Now, even though Roni had more than a few drinks in her, she's still Roni....incredibly creative and resourceful. Noticing that her cowbells are gone, she gets upset and starts looking for them. Not finding them, she goes and gets the next best thing....the set of windchimes we got from my Mom that we have hanging out front next to the driveway!!!!!
She comes out next to Hannah and says, "You think you stopped me! Hahahahaha!!!!" and starts ringing these things. Funniest damn thing all night! :ROFLMAO: Roni was not going to be denied her Mom fun! Rob said later, "That was so funny I couldnt say No."

Just wink twice if you need us to get you out of there haha

It seems like the wedding went of without any problems and from these pictures, it looks like one hell of a nice setup! I'm glad the wedding went well for your families!

I think we all still wish BBT was in these photos tho........

Well we will just have to throw a DD get together
We should do a diesel power challenge type gathering. Bring what you got and play around. If we can't get ahold of a sled that's fine we can figure out other challenges. Towing obstacle course, trailer drag race, maybe some others. Looks like Tom's got a good sized yard we could tear up 😁

Of course it would have to be on the west coast so I wouldn't have to drive too far 😂

Thats always been the problem. Distance. :(

The only GTG we ever really had that included almost everyone was Merchant's last one, back in 2009. Met Mike and Guy there. Those were the days.

Would be sweet to get together at UCC maybe? It's pretty central to the country and has dyno, sled pull, drag racing all for spectators.

The kids are in Texas, almost to El Paso. Had a knock sensor code pop up on her Cruze, I told her she had to start running 91 octane gas due to the warmer temps.
