At least the towel didn't make it down the drain tube, may have never seen it!
Shoot, our house is 163 years old, and the owners I bought the place from were complete hacks, so I have had double the fun over the years. Our house was second hand, but not real old (12 years when we bought). I hate finding stuff that hacks leave behind, I can't imagine buying a real old house that's had 4 or 5 owners

HVAC, plumbing and wiring all through the house had to be redone to code as best I could.
While it’s too late now, a wrench and factory jack make getting those bolts loosened really easy.the stock downpipe was a struggle to remove even with his good snap on swivel head ratchets.
Yes, still has fieldstone foundation with "Michigan" basement. My dream is to have the house lifted and a modern foundation installed. That would dovetail with an addition we've wanted for a 1st floor bedroom, new bathroom and kitchen, too. Likely $60K for the foundation, and another $50K for the addition, though. Was it still a sandstone foundation when you got it? Probably oak framing, it will outlast every other house haha. Parents house was the same way, built in early 1900's, added onto in the 1930's. They built a new block foundation and added on some more, looks great on the outside!
You've got to explain yourself on this one. Did you use the jack on the wrench to force the bolts loose? While it’s too late now, a wrench and factory jack make getting those bolts loosened really easy.
Wasn’t just the bolts. Took awhile to pry it out of there once we got them out. That’s a good idea for the future though. While it’s too late now, a wrench and factory jack make getting those bolts loosened really easy.
I couldn’t get the trans dipstick out and was stuck getting the downpipe out too. I cut it lol.Wasn’t just the bolts. Took awhile to pry it out of there once we got them out. That’s a good idea for the future though.
My truck had an extra bracket on the passenger side valve cover area most lb7’s don’t have which didn’t help. Ended up removing the dip stick and cutting off the studs coming out of firewall and we were able to pry it out. If that didn’t work we were going to cut it also.I couldn’t get the trans dipstick out and was stuck getting the downpipe out too. I cut it lol.
Wife and I are in Troy, Montana for some R&R
Kootenai River is amazing. 3 bald eagles nest all in our vicinity.

I always ask before I do Tom . Don't need to get into more trouble then I already do.Your wife has the "sure you can take my pic, but you better not post it online" look.
Oh well, better to ask for forgiveness, right? Lol
