The longer you live in AZ the less you use a pool, Ive been here 8 years now and can count the times Ive been in my pools over the years. Id rather go to the lake on someone else's boat :D

the ants used the pool more than we did when i lived there, i think the last time i swam in the pool before i moved was cuz i fel asleep while eating a bowl of ice cream lyin in the shade on the back porch, i woke up with my left leg, hand, arm, and up to my neck in ants, literally, the pool was a hop skip and holy shit jump away, yeah that was the last swim i took, plus they cost time and money to maintian, the pool that is, ants come for free

^^^ Yeah, had mine acid-washed today. It adds up, especially if it doesn't get used much.

A lot of folks in the Arcadia area and in the older Scottsdale neighborhoods are caving them in. :(

Flown in and out of Sky Harbor so many times.....was a trip to see all the pools in the backyards right after takeoff and just before landing.

Side note on going to the lake on someone else's boat..... Offer to pitch on gas... My biggest pet peeve when taking people to the lake to go wake boarding. Boy that lake Pleasant and Havasu are somethin else..... Ill leave it at that

Rent a bobcat next time. Where is the Swedish bikini team going to practice without a pool next time there in town?

Algae grows DAMN FAST when its 115*+, on top of that the sun kills the chlorine and you fight a swamp all summer.

In fact, when looking at houses any place with a pool in the pics was an instant "no".

Wow. No more swimming pool.
So, where is the team gonna' practice?

picture.php

lol they can practice somewhere esle, i want a back yard.

tried, they didnt have one for a decent price with a hydraulic breaker attachment. i would have got in the 200 series and those would not have fit around the side of the house and pool. this was the only thing that would work

Such friends you are....James has that much insurance on his hair....dude is a stud

yeah buddy!!! :roflmao:

I myself am not a pool person. i used it 4 times last summer and it cost me over 100 bucks a month in just chemicals to keep it clean. When we bought the house i was actually looking at homes without a pool but this house was what i was looking for and came with the pool. for some odd reason, i though taking one of these MF'ers down was a lot easier than it was lol. its a BITCH!!! i got about 3 weekends of work into this thing and it will probably take me about a grand to finish. luckily i have a buddy that builds pools so getting dirt is no issue.

the biggest problem is the damn pool takes up 3/4 of my back yard. its a fricken 30,000 gallon pool!

ya'll can have them, i want nothing to do with them and sure as hell will never fill one in again, ill just keep lookin for a different house :D :roflmao:

$100/month in chemicals? You were doing it wrong.

I pay $80/month for a pool guy to keep mine clean and that includes chemicals.

you dont have my big ass pool. thing would eat 3 chlorine tabs in 4 days in summer time and take about 1.5 weeks during winter. then add in muriatic acid when storms blow in and i have not chlorinated enough and she goes green in a day. i ran two floater things in my pool and the sun would still eat the chlorine faster than it could come out of the tabs. id use a gallon of acid ever two weeks just to keep the levels at an acceptable level. the theres the baking soda id have to throw in to drop PH levels after so much acid and new water went in. then add in water (pool was an additional 40 bucks a month in summer, 20 in winter). then add in broken parts (pump impeller, pump defuser, water seal, broken PCV pipes , one was my fault, rest werent). And we wont forget that it was also in major need of resurfacing, retiling, the cool decking was pulling away from the pool leaving large gaps, you couldnt fit a fence nicely around the pool without making it a major pain to get to the back yard, and most of all, i have more room for storing my toys now. im being conservative on my costs lol.

so you add all that up and within the year, ill have made my money back. My uncle and two guys i know well are pool guys and even my uncle giving me a good rate could only do it for 110 bucks a month.

all to only use 4 times a year.........why waste the money? by the time Erin and i had kids and they were old enough to play in the pool, ill be looking at a new house.

Not diggin at ya tony, just my veiw and justification to fill it in. i would much rather have the room to park both trailers behind the gate as well as my buggy and samurai. Specially now that erin wants her own samurai lol
