hey guys, i know this may seem like a stupid question but, Im looking at buying new batterys for the truck, and was woundering what would be the best out there... my dad bought some batterys from the local parts store and at 7 degrees out they didnt start his truck up... maybe its because its a power stroke. i dont wish to have anyone have to go on a batman an robin mission to save me in the cold.... any input would be great

When my originals finally went I was on an antelope hunt. Great timing. Anyways had to walk to the closest Orileys and I bought their "Super Start" brand. Been in the truck for four years now and still working great. That said, when these go I will prob get AC Delco again.

X2 on O'reilly. Put a set in my 12v in 2011 and a set in my GMC last Oct. They are 850cca dual post. Got a break on the price since I was purchasing two. Just ask.

What's up with the optimas? I've got red tops in both my trucks, now you're making me nervous. Both sets are about a year and a half old...no problems so far.
The battery in my old 98 gasser was oem delco and it was about 9 years old when it finally gave it up

I have American made Optimas in my truck that are almost 10 years old and never once have I had an issue. I would however stay away from the mexican made ones. As far as Delco batteries, from what I've seen at work the quality is going down and the prices are going up. I believe they are made in saudi arabia now...

I guess somewhere in the not so distant past Optima went out of the country for making the batterys. The old 1s were great my 1 1/2 old Optimas are not so good flrom what I understand.I can only speak for the couple I know of.

There are only three main battery companys that just relable to who is selling them. I run dekas made by east penn, I think east penn makes alot of john deere batterys and oreillys batterys plus cat . Walmart and interstate are both made by johnson controls.

Two Deka batts in mine that replaced a failing Interstate, had to unhook the one because it would pull the good one down and not start. Got them from Napa $60each through my brothers account. 775cca IIRC.
