Believe it or not... I am too. We do, however, get tired of senselessly being accused of stuff that we are not responsible for nor have we done... like your rather creative attempt to show that we were censoring the word Banks from your posts... :cool2:

I figured most would know if it were filtered it would be asterisk. I thought it was funny noone said anything about it.

So they want more money from banks but still have stupid Ford ads on a Gm site it must be only about the money.

Luckily I have flash turned off so I don't have to see those ads

Guys, if you have a problem with our staff, please discuss it with us over there. Discussing it on another site is inappropriate. As Chris and I have said, if you guys have a problem, contact us - we'd rather try and work something out... believe it or not.

I think he lotsofmiles/James was wanting to know was that the threads he had in the Banks vendor sub cat could have and 99% sure could still be moved to other parts. I know that it would be stupid of AF to delete them as if Banks came back they would need to have them still so maybe a staff member of AF could go move the thread around to make the site members happy.

I've replied to James in great detail in PM. Bottom line is that the vendor-specific forums are, by their very nature, full of vendor-specific advertising, rah rah stuff, etc. and it is not just as simple as moving any/all requested threads out into the public. We would have to sanitize each thread, otherwise we would be nullifying the whole supporting vendor program, thus effectively allowing a non-supporting vendor to receive support and benefit. So... rather than moving an occasional thread, we simply don't move any of them. You are correct, we simply hide the vendor-specific forum... that way, if they choose to become a supporting vendor again in the future, the materials are still there and become available again. There's nothing to prevent James or anyone else from re-posting his questions in another forum.

Again... such issues should be discussed on the DP... not here. We will address your concerns and answer your questions. We are not the maniacal God-complex people some claim.

Seems it was made pretty clear that any thread started for the discussion of this subject would be closed. From what I read, James's thread was his own thread talking about the use of the Banks 6 Gun on his truck. Much like any other thread in the electronic performance forums. He says no one from Banks ever even posted in his thread. Doesn't sound like it is in any violation of vendor policy, unless the policy has changed so that non-vendor products can't be discussed.

I understood the thread he was talking about was in a vendor-specific Banks forum, which meant it was gone. But if that is not the case, I need to know where specifically it is located and I will check. It would help if I knew what the title of the thread is.

If the thread in question was closed and it was in a public forum, there's likely a reason for the closure or deletion, though at this time I don't know what that might be. I will happily check into it and get back to you.

As I've said now 3 or 4 times, stuff happening on DP ought to be handled on DP... but if I can help figure this out, I will.

EDIT

Went back and looked. The thread that you specifically reference pertaining to the Banks 6-gun has not been closed nor has it been deleted... and it is in the 3rd gen electronics forum. Now... James is toying with all of us because he's attempted to make it look like we're censoring certain words - like Banks being censored to appear as *-!$. Cute... but our word censor simply stars stuff out. In fact, if you scroll to the bottom of his first post, you'll see a big smiley. Then later, he uses $#%^ as a supposed censor for Banks. Trust me, our system doesn't work like that. He's just screwing around... and anyone who knows anything about vBulletin can vouch for that. James is just playing... no need to worry about what we're not allowing or what we're doing to censor him; he's doing it to himself... like I said... cute.

The issue we've made pretty clear that we're not going to discuss any further is what's going on between Banks and AutoForums. As Chris has already said... it's a financial issue, and no, it's not because AF is asking for more money... any more than your electric company isn't asking for more money each month. They're just asking for what was contractually agreed upon. Nothing more. That discussion has played out and we have nothing more to say about it, 'cause we know nothing more than that. That's the only subject we've made "pretty clear" that we won't discuss further.

You want me to start a thread on DP about it. If that is what you really want, I will. It was my understanding the thread in question is in the Banks vendor area and was started by James without any reply by Banks.

No... in the interests of transparency, let's try to finish this here.

Josh, I see 3 threads that James opened in the Banks vendor-specific forum - which is currently hidden, but I can see it since I'm an admin.
  1. First one was back last July called "What does the 6 gun on an lbz change?". 4 posts in the thread, 3 of which are from James, one from CrashNBurn. Discussion revolves around whether or not the 6-gun does anything to the boost tables. Last post to the thread was on 7/20/09.
  2. Second was last November called "Long term use - Banks 6 gun". 2 posts - James' original post and one response from CrashNBurn. A product endorsement by James. Last post to the thread was on 11/17/09.
  3. Third was last December called "Long term use - Banks intake". 5 posts - 2 from James, one from CrashNBurn, one each from roscoe778 and MB1. Discussion revolves around James claiming 100k miles with a Super Scoop installed. Another product endorsement by James. Last post to the thread was on 12/25/09.

Based on the above, I fail to see the urgency of restoring these three threads. None were replied to by any Banks personnel... and none of these warrant restoration. If there was some earth shattering content here, I'd consider moving these just to make this issue die. But moving these? If we take the action to move these, we run the risk of opening Pandora's box... and we're just not going to do it.

The one he was asking about was the second one. He was wanting to update it since he has over 200k miles of use with the 6 Gun on his truck now. He ended up starting another thread (you know, the one with the funny Banks censoring). I'm not sure if he wants the intake thread restored or not, but I'm sure he wouldn't be upset if you did.

Then considering that there were only 2 posts - his and a "Glad to hear you're having good results" post by CrashNBurn - why not just create a new thread in the 3rd gen electronics - oh wait... he already did.

We're debating a 2-post thread? :hmm:

Hey man, it isn't my beef. I'm just talking to you about it because it came up, and you're here. You're the boss over there. You do what you want, and I promise, it won't bother me either way. I think if James really wants it back, it should be restored. It's his thread and there is no reason he shouldn't be able to post in it if he wants to, but I'm not a mod over there. :thumb:

I've seen tons of one post threads and a bunch of 300 post threads with one direction or one major influence.

Just commenting on the comment.

Guess I was being a smart a$$ :D

But atleast the classifieds are usually still good, and maybe the competition area. I guess if someone wanted to know who to remove there dpf, id send them to that site.

Its also funny that one of the mods asks for "evidence" of profanity. Is posting of private messages allowed over there? If not, do the mods not know there own rules?

And the word "troll" could be used widely, i think some of the mods themselves are "trolls". Some not all.
