Haven't seen it yet but he called me and said he thinks he hurt the truck. Has some white smoke when starting and he had to 3/4 of a gallon of Kool-aid one day and had to add again a few days after. He did say he beat the camaro though:D. he said he put in on the race tune at 70mph and they race for about 1 1/2 to 2 miles on and off exceding the posted speed limit by about 60 mph. Lost some oil to but he haden't checked it so I know it burns/leaks about 2 quarts between the 3 changes i have done. I will let you know what I find when I find it.

Sorry to hear that Larry. From the impression I get, he's happy about the win and reasonable on the potential engine issues. Let us know how it goes would you. :thumb:

Talked with him more last night. He is saying the smoke clears up after it warms up. I think the oil leak got bigger:(. The coolant thing I am not sure yet. The hose on the passenger side of the turbo has split before from heat making the hose brittle. I am hoping thats all it is. I removed the intake heater and the hole it goes in long time ago. This stroker has had a problem with cold temp starts if its not plugged in so maybe glow plugs are an issue as well as a bad injector or 2. Guy is going to call me when he get some free time so we can discuss the better headstuds and some 70+ injectors to prepare for the supercharger early next year. As soon as I get it and find it I will let everyone know. Still planning to come to Cali in dec if I get everything done. I still need to install the knuckles and tierods as well as fix the current problems.

Im thinking glow plugs could be an issue. My truck puffs white smoke on startup and clears once it warms up.And im throwing a couple glow plug codes.

Looked at it briefly today, lots of Oil in the coolant bottle. It doesn't overheat and there is no coolant or fuel in the oil.
It also sounded like it was missing but he said it still runs great??
What gives? how do you get oil in the coolant bottle?
headgasket? Injector cups? Any ideas?

When I had oil in the coolant it was a bad oil cooler. Not sure about your case though as it was losing coolant before right?

He has just started adding coolant in the last few weeks. Is there a recommended procedure for proving its the injector cups?
I guess the oil cooler could do it also but trying to prove what it is and fix it before the last week of Dec when I am supposed to bring it out to California and meet everyone.

I'm curious as to how cups could cause oil to get into the anti-freeze. Fuel maybe, combustion gasses sure, but the oil is below the piston and above the injector so........

Antifreeze in the oil I could see when the truck is shut down and the cooling system is pressurized, but supposedly, this is not happening.

No there is no coolant in the oil yet. I checked it very close Thanksgiving morning. There is alot of oil going thru the coolant system apparently but I don't know why yet. The coolant keeps getting low is what he says and he keeps adding to it but there are no visable outside leaks. I am hoping to get the truck this week so I can try to check it over. I was just hoping someone has seen this before and might give me some things to look for before I just tear it apart.

The first thing to do would be a compression test. This will determine which cylinder if any or having an issue. Have you changed the oil? If there is any coolant in the oil then it will come out first upon changing. If there was a hold down problem you would be getting an extreme amount of blow by out of your vent tube and possibly oil dip stick. Hopefully it is a simple problem.

Talked a little with Ric this morning and we both came to the conclusion to check the oil cooler first. If we are both thinking right the onle place the two liquids are married is the cooler. We might be wrong but I have to start somewhere. He still claims it runs just as good and is still "fast as hell" to which I replied with "park it till I fix it!" So maybe it just sounded different because I haven't seen it in 3 months.

the cooler would dump oil in the coolant cause theres more press behind the oil . easy way to tell would be to press the coolant system with the engine cold and see if you get water in the oil
