New to this forum looking for a little advice or knowledge. My truck under wide open throttle will hit 50 psi and bury egt gauge to 1600 then i left off the go pedal and get right back on it.... it hits 55-60 psi and sustains 1200-1250.... Check my signature for what has been done to the truck. My truck has the LMM engine

Does that setup have a wastegate or is it compounded over the stocker?? Could be wastegate issue, or if it's running on the variable stock turbo maybe the vanes arn't opening enough (causing enough restriction to lower boost and bring up EGT's, then on the next stab they are opening properly? maybe some logs to see whats going on?)

How about fuel pressure, whats your actual rail pressure look like? smoke etc?

Just some quick thoughts...

Ditry im new on here so I have no idea what the sotm is...? No boost leak there was one but we fixed it. Have pressurized system and it doesnt leak. It is a compound system feeding into stocker. I have talked to Rob at ATP he did the tuning and he thought it was a vane issue as well. Tons of smoke plenty of fuel pressure. It is just weird to me that it isnt a consistent problem. If it is the stock turbo vane not opening and closing properly which seems likely what is the fix?

Log the vanes and see what they are doing. Then you can see whats going on with them and go from there.

Steve sorry for being illiterate so I need to buy a EFI live programmer from Rob to read such Data correct? Rob had my truck and tuned it so I don't have the docking unit but I can buy if need be. Thanks

Smoke on the mountain. It's a local gathering of diesel guys from the NW. We are meeting at the Spiffy's off exit 68 and I-5. We will be there at 8:30. We drive over to Toledo and donate a bunch of food to their food bank in town. From there we will go up to Johnsons Ridge. That's about it really. Last year we had 47 trucks in the convoy, it was 2 miles long. Really cool to see all the trucks in a massive convoy going down the road. It's good time to meet new people and see some cool trucks. Never a dull moment on the CB either. Good times.

What dyno shop are you taking it to? I'd get EFI Live from Rob and go from there. He will be able to help you out the most it seems. He's already tuned the truck and knows about it. Talk to him and get the info he needs, that's where i'd start.

Where was the boost leak from?

Ok so here is the problem after hooking up efi live scan device and my laptop. I drove around and did some data logging. I emailed this to rob and we came to the conclusion that the turbo is operating properly and it is the Torque convertor is not achieving lockup. Headed back to ultimate transmission on friday to have more aggressive tc installed. Truck did put down 602 rwhp without lockup so I am interested to see what it will with it. Headed to dyno monday following tc swap.
