it looks like the outside has more wear than the inside already? i would guess it is becuase it gets hits by the pressure first maybe? did you send the pics to south bend?

I dint sent the pics to south bend it was too late. I decided to put it together with the new slave and everything is working better so far. Oddly, it's a little louder now and more grabby but normal travel seems to be getting closer. Lesson learned, I will never do this again without a new slave just because it is only a year old.

Oh yeah, it truly was a blast, especially in my huge, fully functioning shop known as my single car garage with an atv jack. Electric impacts did help though.

Well Manseil from south bend looked at the pictures and he wasn't concerned at all. This morning the pedal stuck to the floor though, but got better almost immediately with pumping. He said it could of been air still workings its way out and we'll just have to see with a little more driving and sitting. If not, its probably the master starting to go. At least that won't be too tough a job though.

yea it did it quite a few times the first day, but I don't think it did it after the first day. I worked it pretty hard the first day though. probably put 150 miles on it, and I would say half of those were hard city miles. and then 2 days later I hooked it to the sled, and after that it calmed down quite a bit :D

Well I didn't put many miles on mine so maybe it will clear up tomorrow on my 535 miles drive. Could you do me a favor though? When I took the cap off once, that little white piece fell off the black boot. I attached it to the bottom but I think it is suppose to go in the inside of the rubber, black diaphragm and attack from there. Would you mind looking at it for me and letting me know?

Thanks. I ended up putting it inside the rubber diaphragm because I believe that's where it goes. I don't know that it is going to make a difference but I want it to be right. We will see what happens with the pedal in the morning, I have a feeling it is going to sink to the floor, in which case it probably needs a master cylinder, but we will see.

good deal! so I checked out the lid on my master, and were you talking about that little white round thing? about as big as a pencil eraser? that's the only white thing I seen in there and it went inside that diaphragm and sits flush with it. I think it may be some sort of vent

Yep thats it, it popped off and i originally put on the bottom attached from the outside. I eneded up attaching it from the inside because it didnt look right. Only issue im having now is the tendenecy for it to want to barely move forwar when i put in gear, but i think that will get better in time.

Like it creeps forward and is slightly hard to get in gear. The portion where the majority of the engagement happens is back to normal, it just creeps a bit as I start to let the clutch out. South bend said the more I drive it the better it will get.

Just an update, got back from Missouri tonight and took the truck on a drive. Shifts fine but still lurches a little when put in gear. Have about 100 miles on it now.

do you have a molded floor linee, like a husky liner? i had to cut a notch out of mine at first because it was getting in the way of the pedal

No liner, I made sure the mat I had was pulled back though. It's driving pretty good. Just kind of a creeping forward when first letting out and then the majority of the engagement at normal position. I am putting faith in it to improve with some miles.

Just to give some closing to this thread, clutch is improving with miles like South bend said it would. It is getting easier to shift and creeping less with 300 miles now.
