its hard to do on a reg sb truck with slow stock steering. that ass end will feel good, then whip right around and bite you. my old 2000 NBS 1500 reg sb prerunner did that to me a few times on and off the road. even with the little quicker rack and pinion steering, only so much you can do. never had it end like that though, usually just with me facing the wrong direction or goin a full 360

Ya I did something similar to what he did in my 86 scsb with a 388 strker got out of it when it started to kick the second time and it came out of it with little wiggling but not to bad I broke my front driveline earlier that day to lol :D that had shitty power steering

Glad u are ok. Im 2wd, never raced with the new twins but in 2wd you have to drive her a little more. Not saying high hp 4wd dont but be careful
I am going to convert my truck maybe next year but until then it is what it is. Just glad u are ok, I have not had a wreck but I was in icu 8 years ago falling 11 feet on a cooling tower and I have back issues still to this day. I dont wish sh-t like that on anyone.

A couple hundred pounds south of the rear tires can make a huge difference in handling.

El Mirage is dirt, and I'm only allowed to run 2WD with skinny tires.

It was a freaking handful over 150mph. But I put tractor weights on the rear hitch, then it smoothed out. For Bonneville I ended up with 1100lb in the bed and it drove like family car going to the grocery store.

Another issue that affects all cars, is try to avoid running stiff tires up front, and soft tires in the rear. Any "wiggle" gets magnified because when the rear moves sideways, the front stays put and changes the car direction, which makes the rear wiggle more. Soft tires up front absorb some of that wiggle. High profile, narrow tires up front.

Thanks for all the info guys. I was wondering how bad I was going to get bashed for my mistake. Have to say. Great group of people here. I have been bummed out the last couple days My brother showed me this video and it cheered me up a little.

As for the 2wd the truck was a lot easier to drive when it was a extended cab. The shorter wheel base kinda sucks to drive to me. I run slicks with it at the track but I like to drive it on the streets to. Many guys have been telling me to do some 18 inch wheels with some good drag radials since the accident. It is a riot to drive but that was a reality check on how fast crap can happen.

For the second year, I had an 1100lb baffled watertank in the bed that pumped through the engine. Oil got warm, but the water didn't. :D

Before, I put mini-tractor (50lb ea) weights on the rear tow hitch. 300-400lb?

I remember one of the in cab videos you sent me from Bonneville. I believe you were above 175 mph and the front of Casper was zig zagging pretty good on the salt.

You should look into lowering it and getting your suspension set up right. There are plenty of 1000+ hp 1500 RC/SB gasser trucks running 15" wheels with drag radials and still on leaf springs, racing on the street. The shorter the wheel base the more the rear end will want to pass the front end (anyone ever ridden in a high powered fox body?) so its important to get the truck to transfer weight well and hit the tires hard.

just wondering what you buy that you need help with?

I have his lockup box, and a few months ago I asked for him to ship me an unlocked box, which lets me alter when the converter locks up and the speed that it locks up, so if I launch at the line and spin it doesn't fall on its face when it locks in 2nd. Plus it's what was advertised when I bought the box in the instructions.

So I contacted Ben by constantly calling 5 or 10 times and he finally answered. he said he was waiting for one part and it should be out tomorrow, ect. I called back a few weeks later same thing. Then he doesn't return my emails, phone calls, Pm's, ect. So I just got sick of it and posted it publicly.
