Yeah those seals always break apart and that inner piece can be on there so good it seems to belong!

No the pin is ok.

Do your self a favor and get OEM seals... Front PN#97209341 Rear PN#97209342 Also get gm sealant PN#89021297 and put a thin coating of that on both steel mating surfaces ... you won't have a leak

I did order OEM seals. I also think I have some of that GM anaerobic sealer at home, did you mean that? When I search for 89021297 I get thread locker.

Yea I use the thread locker it is the same stuff used on the lb7 injector cups any hign temp high, strength will work to seal any imperfection in the surfaces

Y'all sure that stuff isn't more of a pipe sealant than a thread locker? Like 571

Yeah Ive got a bunch of that I've never used it. That must be there oil proof gasket maker? that stuff looks just like 571

I'm a big fan of using that anaerobic sealant on any seals that are used with rotating parts.

Yeah it's oil proof. I've used it on valve covers and a front diff with good success.

I do lots of searching but when I don't find a good answer I definitely don't hesitate to start a new thread. And I have no shortage of questions
