So then just put some good pistons (finger or Mahle) with your LBZ rods in the engine that you had in your rig and do some other things like head studs and put it back together and run it with the setup you had (turbo and injectors) keep it at a tame 600 hp and leave it alone.
Already have ARP studs, billet flexplate, manifolds etc
But now I need machining and shipping and bearings and oil pump and oil cooler and...and...
You get it
Did you ever actually even pull you're original engine apart to see what happened?
I pulled the manifold and uppipes off, the drivers side manifold had about 3 cups of oil in it... And it puked oil out of the tail pipe
What made you think you bought a POS and decide to tear into in?

And $7k? Come on.
I've answered this several times between the two threads I started relating to determining the condition of this engine...

Yea, I spent 7k on this turd, it's damaged and I'm getting my money back. I lucked out technically and I'll chalk it up to a learned lesson...

Ya wanna see a screen shot of the receipts? I've got no reason to exaggerate here, that only makes me look less competent to say I spent more, really man, it's not something I'm bragging about. But in the beginning I thought I was getting a reasonably fair deal

hay kinda off topic here guys but I've got a lbz block that needs worked on a an was wondering what machine shops you guys go to in or around eastern washington or around there?? i cracked a piston an it scored th cylinder wall a bit and we figured we would just git them to bore them out to 20overs an go bak in with mahle pistons

Going to be about 1800.00 for boring, balancing, line honing, washing several times, keying the crank, assembling short block. and that's in Oregon.

This is the damage I found that is warranting my full refund, that crack goes all the way across the ear of the upper oil pan, from bolt hole to bolt hole and the lower pan is bent just the same. I'll come clean about who I'm dealing with when the issue is resolved, or isn't resolved

I feel like the guy is just a salesman, he wants a sale and that's that. He seems like a reasonable character and this whole time I've tried to just give him the benefit of taking him at his word. We'll see how it holds up

That's actually not near as expensive as I was thinking it would be for all that including assembly of the short block. Good to know.

Yeah man, SoCal wants about double that!

What machinist in Oregon? I'll drive my block down there ASAP for that price!
