I had Mike put in a suncoast IV a few months ago in my truck and we went with the 1058 to help get my truck up and rolling. Anyways I have always ran a 500 RWHP tune in my truck and it has seemed fine. I have always planned on going with twins and now that there almost out for the LMM I am going to purchase a set. What I was wondering is if the 1058 is going to be to loose, and get overpowered. I really would hate to have to buy another torque converter.

Where have you been man?!?! A good person to talk to would be JoshH. He had some issues with the 58 being too loose for the twins on his LBZ. I know he got alot of the bugs worked out and put some serious time and effort into tuning it. IIRC he ran around a 12.00 with it.

Cool I will see what he has to say. I am curious if my large tires are going to potentiate the issue.

I have been around just been quiet on the boards lately. Whats new? Do you still want to help with the install? I am guessing its a month or so away. I bought a new car which stool from my twins fund.

Awesome Mike! Thanks for the reasurance. Maybe I was thinking backwards. Mike do you think the trans should have issues holding the power the twins will put out. I figure most of the time I will be around 550rwhp, but occasionally I will have it around 650rwhp?

It seems like it is a little looser than a 1057, but I don't think it's too loose to get good performance out of it. I've cut a best 60' of I think 1.66 with several more 1.6Xs with 265 A/Ts on stock aluminum wheels. On my H2 wheels with 285 mud tires, I've cut a best of 1.72 with several more low 1.7s. I'm really happy with how well it preforms. Those 60' times are very close to what IdahoRob is cutting at the same track with a 1057.

Everyday driving is fine other than the slightly harsh converter lockup. I've kind of gotten used to it after a while though.
