is my locker broken?

How can I tell if my locker is messed up? Jack rear up and spin one? What should the other do? Reason I ask is I've been suspect of my locker for sometime in the burnout box it only ever spun one tire. Last night I tried a burnout and right away both spun and then the driver side unlocked and only the passanger side spun. Time for a new locker?

If only one tire is spinning, then yes, time for a new locker.

Is this still the stock G80? I nuked mine years ago. If you keep in in there, all sorts of fun things might start happening. For example, about a year after killing mine, it decided to work again--- and not unlock afterwards. I drove for about 5 miles with a spool, couldn't get it to unlock. Finally several burnouts in reverse and it let go again, this time with a very loud crack. :spit: I've been too afraid to pull the diff cover and see what happened. :baby:

LOL my stock G80 comes and goes as well. Burnout in a straight line always gets posi but the second you tunr the wheel it almost always loses it(unless I have a ton of wheel speed) Occasionally it will stay locked and bind when I turn. Replacing with a TrueTrac so hopefully that solves my problems.

keep trying it and wait for the "BANG", you will know what needs replacing then :D

yes your g80 is shot. if you keep doing that, you could blow it up so be warey

torsen unit. whether that be a dodge unit or an eton unit.

ive been told the eton unit is more aggressive than the dodge unit.

Easy way to tell is to jack the rear end up and spin on tire with your hands as fast as you can. With your truck in park when the locker engages the tires will stop.
