I have used an Everstart Walmart battery, with high CCA's without issue. I keep a quality brand battery tender on them when not in use.

yup, been running a single duralast platinum for the last 2-3 years. i think its about on its last leg though. single batteries just dont live as long as two use to give me. i have heard that the 06 and up can be temperamental with one battery but dont quote me on it

Ok. I figured the a high CCA would be key problem is a lot of these parts stores don't carry anything over 800 or so in our normal group size

mine is a 1000CCA but i dont think duralast makes it anymore. ill have to check. either way, it dont crank over as fast as two batteries do.

i cant remember who it was but there was a seld puller guy who put a single battery in his puller and was amazed at the power it had. ill have to find the thread as i was really thinking of going to that battery next go round

I ran a single interstate for a while in my 05. Worked fine....it did crank slower but it always started.

We ran a single 12v for years on the puller, good exide. We have since switched to 2 14v and no alternator. I think a single 14v would be perfect when using an alternator.
