I have a original iphone. Got it when it first came out. Somedays I love others I would love to smash it. As far as I'm concerned AT&T blows as a carrier they have terrible service most anywhere I go.

The phone itself can really break balls when it wants. It can be a very quirky phone. The map feature on it is great and the doubling as an ipod is nice also. Its nice to be able to surf the web and kill some time but overall for what I paid when it originally came out its not worth it. Now with the price drop its worth the money I'd say.

As far as where and tear they hold up ok. The are not Nextels where you can abuse the phone and it keeps asking for more. A couple good drops on pavement or concrete and kiss it goodbye. I am on my second one Apple replaced one under warranty due to the fact it was having alot of issues.

Battery life isn't great if you just use it as a phone and nothing else its ok but then why buy one if all you do is make calls on it. If you surf the web play alot of music watch videos on youtube off a full charge and continuous use you'd probably get 4-5 hrs of time before it dies. More charges you do less the battery lasts and when it finally dies out you have to bring it to Apple to replace it.

All and all its a cool phone but the quirkyness and AT&T kinda kill it. As far as the new 3g iphone being able to use the 3g network for faster internet browsing is nice but there are not many cities that have 3g useable so its kinda a double edged sword.

I picked up the new 3G iphone the day it came out. I didn't even have to wait in line very long.:D

Things I really like about it:

The new map function is insane, I don't know what I would do without it, especially in cities that I'm not familiar with.

Having a laptop that I don't have to dig out of my suitcase every time I go through airport security is priceless. Since I'm usually through airport security about 2 times a day 3-4 days a week.

I never had an ipod before so it's nice to be entertained with that now.

The ability to look stuff up at a moments notice, like looking up GM part numbers on this sight while your standing at the GM parts counter.

I'm not a big texter, but the text function is really good.

Things I don't like:

The phone! I don't know if it's me or what but I hate talking on it. The sound just doesn't come through right to me for some reason, I always find myself asking people to repeat themselves which I don't like doing because I hate repeating things. I do have a bluetooth that I haven't tried yet, so maybe that will make a difference. Also, it seems to get service worse than my old phone. In my house I would always have full bars with the Moto, now it seems that I only have about half the bars and sometimes only 1. It still works but I figured it would get as good as or better service.

Maybe Apple could use all there infinite wisdom to put a battery in the thing that lasts more than 1 1/2 days. My Motorola Sliver from 05 would hold it's battery for a week. I know the iphone has a bunch more stuff going on but even if I use it as just a phone and nothing else, the battery still dies in about 2 days. I guess it's a small price to pay to have everything at your figure tips.

They need to send more out to the ATT stores. I was luck to only have to wait for about 40 minutes to get mine the morning it came out. My wife has been trying since then to get one and only the apple stores have them. (We have to get our phones through an ATT store because of a corporate account, apple won't sell them to us)

I would say it's pretty good overall. I was like Ben for the longest time and just rolled with the standard phone and figured it was time to step up in technology. It's pretty cool, and it is definitely useful at work but about once every other day I wish I had the Moto back. Maybe, I'm just not totally used to it yet.

I wish some one would come out with another direct connect feature because nextel blows as a carrier.

I would love to have an Iphone but i cant live or work without two-way

Well the direct connect has not worked on my 4 month old phone for 2 months so I learned to live without it. I would have got it fixed but the nearest service center is a ways away and only open while I am working. So I decided to tell Sprint and Nextel to take a flying leap.

It is very helpful to be able to make notes and text my wife while on hold with Kroger receiving!!!

verizon has a sort of direct connect. it is called push to talk. me and my girlfriend use to have it. the best thing was it didnt require a direct connect number. it is the same number as the persons phone number. this was a couple of years ago so i dont know what they have for the push to talk any more. i have a voyager and i love it in my opinion like the iphone only better. but that is just my opinion

Since the iPhone..I can't imagine using anythign else. The new 2.0 software and 3rd party apps makes it even better.
WeatherBug and Urbanspoon are especially nice for people that travel like I do.

My only problem now is that I need to upgrade to a 16G because my 8G is almost full. LOL
1500+ songs plus several apps and pics and stuff sucked up the available space pretty quick.

I have one, 8GB original. Also have the "mobileMe" service for push email/callendars/contacts. Love the apps.

I will admit I have been a Mac user since 1984, the year of the Mac, and I still have that one :)

Just got the 16gb 3g. They advertise its so much faster thn the old one. Its really not much faster at all. My dad has the original and i compared them and there is little to no difference. The size and shape is much sleeker though. And the app store is pretty cool. Ihave a bunch of useless apps that are pretty cool then some cool stuff like the facebook app, shazam which recognizes any song it hears. Pandora radio which plays an artists songs off the radio and any music related to it. And box office which tells me what movies are out and the showing times. Overall its pretty cool. Still has room for improvement though.

Most likely the reason you are not seeing any speed difference is because you are probably still in the edge network zone. 3g does not have a huge amount of areas that you can connect to. Unless you are in a major US city then 3g is worthless. That is a hugh reason I have not switched to the 3g iphone until there coverage gets better its not worth it IMO.

I did a quick blast done the street from a dig.

It said I did 15.03 @ 86.6

peak horse was 427.

It seems like it might be pretty close, I didn't launch hard at all. I would guess without a good launch and no lift pump that's close to what my truck would run. 427 might be a bit low. ;) But, I also put in 20% drivetrain loss. I just guessed.

For 13 bones it is just too fun.

I tried it out in the airplane today. :p

We had a pretty full load so the numbers aren't that impressive but it was still fun to try. I'll have to try it again when the load is light.

Specs:

Embraer Regional Jet
weight was 45k lbs.
2 Allison/RR engines producing 8k+ lbs. of thrust a side.

1/4 mile:

60' 3.85
1/8 12.37 @ 71.5
1/4 17.58 @ 100

Said peak HP was 3033.
