ok its working on my iphone now used Pats link then loaded the part to my laptop and iphonemodem on phone and laptop. Works alot faster then I thought it would I paid the 9.99 to stop seeing the one pop up to reg it.
Hmmm this is strange as my canadian Iphone has tethering ability!! I have used it and if you have strong service it works great!! I wonder why the american ones do not allow tethering?

Tethering is not currently offered in the U.S. and some other countries. See your carrier for availability.
it is here but it's an additional $50 a month. I paid $10 for the app i use to tether mine. If i'm in a 3G area, it works great.
Yea I'm not paying the 50 on top of the 30 for the data on the iPhone to tether it. When I could just get the card for 48 a month. The 10 app is working fine for me only need it time from time.
Same here,, I paid $10 for the app i use and it's works great when i need it in my truck or if the net goes down at the office which is a common thing anymore lol.
so is spirit similar to blackrain?? i would like to update but do not want to lose my already jailbroken phone.....i would think updates are a good thing??
I don't know for sure but spirit just added cydia to my phone and most of what i used came from rock. My phone crashed this weekend and the restore forced me to update. I lost cap lock, pics, some contacts, text, pictures and some notes. it sucked! I do know how to do a forced restore now though! Now i cant get a jailbreak to work on mine.
See my service is AT&T I added the app that Pat has linked it worked great. Used iphonemodem and istalled that also on the laptop and works great. I can not use the phone and inernet at the same time but doesn't bother me.
Tethering is linking your laptop to your iphone via usb or bluetooth and then using your computer as you would on a regular internet connection, it will just be using your data plan on your phone for the internet access!!
That is good to know. I will just use Pat's phone when I hook up my laptop as I canceled my air card.
It allows you to use your i-phone as a modem for your laptop. So you can surf the web on with a real keyboard.
With My Wifi found in the rock service pack that you get when jailbreaking with blackra1n, all the phone features still work as normal.
did mine with spirit, downloaded rock, and got MyWi back, its great cause you can use the phone. even when tethered.....thanks Pat!!
