Isnt the intercooler piping aluminum and a bit thin for tapping?

I tapped mine without welding on a bung. I drilled and tapped it then right before I turn the fitting in I brushed some fiberglass resin on the threads. Then screwed the fitting in by hand. Lightly snugged with wrench. No issues.

SPE-9751 is the PN for it from summit. Used it several times with no issues.

Stuff looks pretty simple. I will give it a shot. First i want to ditch the stock intake and i might throw on a ATI superdamper and see if i can squeeze anything else out of it. I know the damper's are conservertail (sp?) but in all my other dyno testing on small blocks i gained 10 HP using ATI's balancer. Im going to give it a shot on the D-Max. I would order from So-cal diesel but ATI makes the so-cal balancer and ATI is based in baltimore so i dont have to pay to ship 20 LBS from california to here :D. Then i will change turbos. Just getting all my stuff together now.

I dont think there is any controversie(sp?) where the or not the ATI/Socal damper is a good peice.

I mean whether or not you pick up any power from them or if they are really needed. From my other dyno runs on SBC they made a HP and torque diffrence over stock balancers. I had a few stock balancer come apart when spinning 7K plus RPM.
