Interesting

Has anything else changed in your household like a teenager just got their license or anyone ellse with a license that lives there had a accident? Sometimes it effects your rate as they assume might get behind the wheel. If so perhaps you can exclude them or make you the only eligible driver? Might help you in the long run so no one can ask to use your truck! :D

Yea, you need to prove that they have their own insurance, otherwise its all on you.

Happened to my friend, his sister had a bad record effected the whole house rates.

Edit: This is NJ, prob worse than anywhere else.

What insurance company? I live in So Cal 2011 LML 2011 Tahoe and a 98 blazer all full coverage with all vehicles $500 deductables on everything and paying way less than that. Have you shopped around? When I used USAA my rates were crazy geico saved me alot. I also have three tickets on my record right now all three for more than ten over.

As a person who just had a teen added, I can tell you that alone will raise the rates on ALL your vehicles, not just the one they will primarily drive. Reason being that they could "potentially" drive the others in your stable.

O/P.....Repair costs of the vehicle affect the rates, too. Parts availability, rate of theft, etc all matter. Then you have safe driver, good student, airbag discounts, etc...

Combining policies will help reduce your rates, too. My homeowners and auto are thru the same company and it really helped my costs.

Insurance isnt the same for everyone, so there's really no magic way to make your rates go down. Best bet is to find a good agent who can compare multiple companies and find you the best rate for your situation.

I have Nationwide and pay ~300/month for full coverage/full tort on 3 cars and a house. No tickets, accident free for almost 10 years.

OP, Seems like yours should be lower for only having full on one vehicle.

You and I use the same company and are paying very close to the same rate for the same thing. Ive been very happy with Nationwide since we went with them 6 years ago. Full coverage on my and the wife's trucks, and PL/PD on our son's Cav. My wife did hit a deer last year in the Blazer, and I did not see a major increase in our rates.

I love Nationwide. I've been with them for 16 years and they've always taken good care of me. They will use OEM parts and have good relationships with the body shops. I could get my rates down a bit since we don't need full on the Buick, and my wife is still on a separate policy. The crazy thing is her BMW is like $60/month cheaper than my truck!

We have Kemper and in CA cost for a year with $500 deductible with full coverage on them all.

Casper $401
Wendy $902 listed as daily driver
Blue $398
Meanie $387
Spooky $1066 listed as daily driver

While Wendy went up some. I'm saving almost $1500 a year on Spooky.

We also have our home owners with them.

I've never even heard of kemper. That's one I'll have to look in to.

My policy is now as follows:

Motorcycle: liability only, 0-2500 miles- $290
Dodge Diesel: liability only, 0-2500 miles, $317
Duramax: Full coverage. (50k per person, 100k per incident, 50k property, 100k uninsured motorist, comprehensive), 7,000-10,000 miles annually, $1,790!!!

Because of the spike I removed my 1971 vw off the policy so this is now cheaper than the original policy renewal i got.

No accidents, no claims, thankfully no kids, no wife, no added names on the policy, just the one 80 in a 65 speeding ticket.

I just lie, they dont do audits or anything. My primary vehicle for 2 years at one point didnt even have an engine in it.
So what you're saying is maybe i should take my broken down VW thats sitting on my flat bed and make it my primary?:roflmao:
