Just a general question. I have been told by a buddy at work that his son-in-laws 2500 HD 6.0L gasser has instant cab heat. No warm up time just warm air blowing out of the vents when first started. Is there such an option and does it exist for the duramax trucks?

IMO it is not possible? Coolant is cold(guessing it is cold outside that is), so where would the heat source come from other than allowing the vehicle to run and bring the coolant temps up?

So there is no factory option then, from what I am reading. Though its cool that something like that exists.

Maybe not factory, but dealers have been known to install all kinds of aftermarket things to make a sale.

Or factory like Dodge's heated steering wheel...while nice, what the hell did they take out of the truck to add that option in??? Oh that's right...cojones...:D:D:D

My TSL17 Webasto heater is tied in through my heater hoses so when it is running, even if the truck is cold, I have instant heat.

Very Handy!!

Theres always Webasto and simular products but there is another, kinda.....

In Europe, BMW has options for instant heat in the form of an electrically heated heater core in line with the liquid core. They never offered it here cause to many people would hop in have heat and think "oh cool, cars warm" and floor it, forgeting the engines dead cold and endup ruining it. Dont see the logic, Europe has idiots too:rofl: But thats another idea. Now finding an electric supplement heater core....on your own on that one;)
