Installing boost gauge on LML

Can someone tell me how to remove the plastic coldside pipe on the LML where it connects to the butterfly valve. I would like to remove it to drill and tap for my mechanical boost gauge. I attached a pic of what im talking about.

There's not two little prongs sticking out at the bottom of the tube that you squeeze together to loose the clamp/spring?

the ring closest to the cast s pipe spins. if you look at it the ring almost appears to have teeth on it. Just rotate it to the left and pull the black plastic piece towards you. it will pop right off. to put it back on just push the two pipes together. hope this helps

Yeah it kind helps. I noticed the ring with teeth moves but only seems to want to move about 15 degrees at best then stops. Ill keep trying though. Thanks for the tips guys

Ok i got it off the butterfly valve now getting off the intercooler is my next problem. It the same system with the spring load ring but it is a cramped spot to twist and pull at the same time. I removed the air box and the bracket the air box plate sits on to gain access but its still difficult to work on.

The cold side pipe is off the truck finally. Now ive seen a few threads of guys tapping the plastic so i figured id try it but the guy also used some kind of sealant as well. I'm curious what sealant i should use if any and what size hole do i need to drill for a 1/8th NPT tap?

Is the butterfly he is talking about the throttle body? If so is the inlet pipe where he installed his fitting for the boost gauge hose

i tapped mine in the cast alum part right before the heater grid. it was more work for sure but came out perfect and is nearly impossible to see .

we cant even tap our manifolds in cali without it being an issue for inspection.
